After much thought I have decided to start this group in order to socialize my dogs more, and hope other will do the same for the social well being of their furry children.  Its fun for us and the dogs!

I have a Maltese mix, we call him a Meekapoo, who loves to be in the company of other dogs. He really doesn't discriminate against larger dogs, he loves them too, but I can be more relaxed when he's around the little guys, so he doesn't get inadvertently trampled on (it's happened before!). We brought our group to Meetup.com in April 2010, but we actually began our monthly book discussions in September 2009.  We have been having our meetings the first Wednesday evening of every month, 7pm at Red Hook Coffee & Tea (765 S 4th St - between Fitzwater & Catharine in Queen Village). The purpose of this group is to provide socialization and play time for small dogs under 12 pounds in a safe indoor venue. We will meet periodically in various Dog Day care Centers around Manhattan. This group is a play group only that is geared toward the shy dog who needs to gain socialization skills, active dogs who need more play time with other dogs, puppies who need to learn to play with other dogs and owners who wish to socialize their dogs and meet with other dog owners.

This group is for well socialized small dogs of all breeds up to 12 pounds. The meet-ups will be held in in-door spaces of doggy day care centers. We will have open space to play for the dogs and dog snacks and people snacks. There will be drawings for prizes at each meet-up.

The uptown & Bronx small dogs play group is open to anyone who owns a 15 lbs. dog or under, Themed parties, indoor and outdoors events will be planned in the uptown area and the bronx for a great fun with our loved ones!
